What RDGC is
The Royal Dornoch Gondola Company has been issuing paper against an unbuilt railway since MCMXXIII. The REAL Dornoch Gondola COIN is the same tradition on better infrastructure.
RDGC is a commemorative token on the Solana mainnet. It is a souvenir that happens to live on a blockchain. It does not entitle you to a seat, a share, a vote, a discount, or a view. It buys you nothing at the Construction Office and it will not get you onto the gondola in 2029, because at the time of writing neither will anything else.
What it does do is put your name in the Holders of Record, which is the only register this company keeps that is properly maintained.
What it’s for
Tipping, chiefly. The Dornoch Ghost Tour runs on gratuities, and RDGC is the most in-character way to leave one — your guide will take it at the Viewing Point, and at least one of the three will explain the transaction to you at some length.
Beyond that: the store, the community, and the quiet pleasure of holding scrip in a transport network that does not exist yet. People have paid more for less, and in Dornoch, historically, they have.
How to acquire RDGC
- Get a Solana wallet. Phantom or Solflare, on desktop or phone. Write your recovery phrase on paper and keep it where you would keep a deed. Nobody at this company will ever ask you for it, and anyone who does is not from this company.
- Fund it with SOL. Buy a small amount from an exchange and send it to your wallet address. Keep a little spare for network fees, which on Solana are fractions of a penny.
- Open the launchpad. Use the Acquire Coin button above. It carries the correct mint address with it, which is the safest way to arrive.
- Check the mint address before you confirm. It must match the reference below, character for character.
- Swap and confirm. Connect the wallet, enter the amount of SOL you wish to commit, approve the transaction. RDGC should appear within seconds; if it doesn’t, add it to your wallet manually using the mint address.
Anyone can create a token called REAL Dornoch Gondola COIN. Only one of them is ours, and the mint address is how you tell. If the address in your wallet does not match the one above, you are buying somebody else’s souvenir. We cannot recover it for you and neither can anyone else.
How the subscription works
The coin is on an open bonding curve, which means the price moves with each purchase rather than sitting at a fixed rate. When the curve reaches $38,948 the coin graduates to an open market pool and trades freely thereafter.
Until then, the figure on the progress bar is simply how far the subscription has got. It is a milestone, not a promise, and it is not a forecast of anything at all.
Commit what you would happily spend on a souvenir of a Highland transport project that has not been built. The value can fall to nothing. The company will still be delighted to have you on the register.
